    I just got paid with...

A lottory ticket. Yep, a parent was behind $25 on her bill and I told her I needed payment. She went out to her car and brought in a scratch off that she had won $25 with. I was in such shock I just said thanks.

Anyone ever received a strange method of payment?

They’ve tried. I can’t even type what I would’ve done. Because like you I would’ve been in shock & too stunned to reply.

So you are suppose to be inconvenienced & go cash it in?

      WOW! That is ballsy!
I was once paid by check (I only accept cash) and told DCD, "Sorry I don't accept checks, only cash"

Are you going to cash it? Or tell her to give you proper payment?

I've had a mom who signed her pay check over to me before.

That threw me for loop but I guess you gotta do what you gotta do to pay your bills...

The lottery ticket is kind of funny though.... except now you have to take the time to go cash it in yourself vs just having it to spend but atleast you got paid.

I am just happy I got paid at least.

Since I took it and didn't say anything, I will cash it this once but I will nicely let her know that in the future she is going to have to cash it before she gives it to me as I just don't have the time or desire to go out in this weather to cash it.

Could you just imagine saving them up and trying to pay your rent or some other bill ::

              LOL!

My MIL used to have an in-home daycare and took care of 2 kids who belonged to a farmer. He came to pick them up one Friday and didn't have the cash to pay her for the week so he showed up with 2 huge bags of potatoes, a big bag of carrots, 2 bags of onions, 2 fresh chickens and a frozen pie that his wife had made.

She felt bad so she took it. He did it a few times after that too

She has money to buy lottery tickets, but not her daycare fees? Probably always has nice clothes & her nails done too....

Yes. Funny how I left that part out but you guys knew ! I don't care for her clothes. She's a housekeeper and very homely but her nails are done, has the new 5c Iphone, last time she couldn't pay her bill she managed to get 2 tatoos the next day. That is why I make her pay at drop off!

Gosh people can be so rude! I'm thankful that one mom pays on time but Friday is their last day... The other mom pays on time most of the time, but has been late a few times. I remind her now so she knows in advance, like remind her over the weekend when it's due Tues. She forgot to leave her mom the check she wrote me and will be dropping it off this evening on her way home. Better than tomorrow but I could have used that money today! And another mom always seems to forget she has to pay me so I've been politely reminding her as well and of course today is Monday and I wonder if she will have a check? She was here Friday but did she pay? Nope! I'm starting to get bitter about payments and may have to update my contract to include late fees. :-(

wow. I just never have that sort of trouble with payments. and I wouldn't accept anything else but cash or check. I do feel bad for people cometimes but I have four kids to feed and my mama bear will come out if need be...I need my income for my kids and nothing is going to be a good substitute.

I had a mom TRY to pay me with food stamps.
I said "no" then she tried to give me a bag of clothes from Target she bought her kids with the receipt , again I said "no" then she went and returned the clothes herself and payed me.
Yea, she did not last long

I had a parent try to pay me $10 on pennies once. She paid all of her bill but $10 and it told her she needed to bring the rest and she brought it in pennies. I don't know if she did it to be snarky or funny but she had to then go back again and get dollar bills.
