A Xmas Gift/Craft Idea For Little Ones....

all my kids are under 2 right now so I am thinking handprint/footprint craft is the way to go but I need a cute different idea. I did the ceramic tiles for mother's day and last xmas I did handprint trees on canvas. Need something different!!! Any ideas???

This year, I'm having mine make a scrapbook of various pictures I've taken over time. Even cell phone pictures can be sent through Walgreen's website and printed.

All ages can do this. You just have to help more with the younger ones. And the book itself can be just as plain as a few sheets of cardstock with 3 holes punched at the side and yarn or raffia tied to hold it together. Use contrasting cardstock to make frames, and just use a variety of cheap-o stickers. If they can write or draw, have them do that on small sections of the pages.

I have ages 5-10, and ordered scrapbook kits. They've been working on them since last week, and will finish up this coming week. They're looking VERY cute so far!!

We are doing hand print calendars. Each month has a different themed hand print from the child. January is snowflake, February a heart, March a shamrock, etc

The 3 & 4 yo dcks did the handprint calendars and turned out really cute! For the infants and toddlers I put their footprint on a potholder and some I painted mistletoes down the side and some I made them into rudolph with painted antlers and red nose. Pinterest has lots of great examples- super cute and easy! Footprints are much easier than handprints to do with the little ones. I just paint their foot with fabric paint and press it down onto the fabric. I like using beige potholders so the paint shows up well.

Last year the preschool age did brown thumbprints on white porcelain mugs and then made those into Rudolphs- super easy and cute! They filled the cups with chocolate kisses.

All my dck's except for one are under 2 also. We just made hand prints in salt dough to make an ornament and the kids are going to paint them this afternoon.

I made up a cute sign on the computer that had the quote "Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart", but a cute border around the entire thing and typed the child's name and the year at the bottom. Then we used paint to put handprints on it and I bought the self-laminating sheets to cover the entire thing. Simple and very cute

We did a simple reindeer ornament craft. All I had to do was put their thumbprint on, then I drew the face/antlers and wrote their names and the year on the other side.

I did the Mistletoes thing from Pinterest. They turned out so cute-maybe my favorite project. I tried the hand on the glass ball (to make into snowmen) and it was a disaster. Baby is not quite two, although barely one developmentally, and he was NOT holding that ball. Two days later there is still paint on everything! ::

I may try the thumbprints in the morning. I had forgotten about them.
