Fireplace Gate?

I have a fireplace in my daycare room that I would like to start using during the day. I have had no luck finding a gate that will allow me to do so and is sturdy enough to keep out curious toddlers.

And how are you suppose to secure a gate to brick? There are not walls on either side of my fireplace. ...hmmmm

The other problem is that it is right near my front door, so it can't stick out 3', kwim?

I use two that I got from target(we have a one brick raised hearth )they can stand flat against the bricks, sort of wrapped around the front croners and overlap in the front. I haven't had to secure them to each other but could with zip ties or some wire I guess.......I push a large storage ottman against one corner that's also against the end of the couch(keeps kids from no dark hole by the couch and wall too) the other corner is near the tv audio visual stuff so I have that blocked by a coffee table and it helps secure the other corner. when the littles try and to shake the whole thing they are told to stop....sometimes(when I can afford/find wood) we use the firep[lace during DC hrs and they all know 'hot'. maybe this will help.

I can't use one even if I wanted to because my DS has asthma and fireplaces are a no-no with asthma but I don't think I can use one during daycare either! If it was the only form of heat in the home I believe they make an exception but just to use, I don't think so...
