      I use them sometimes. My problem wasn't the mouther-with close supervision, I was able to control that. However, the darn things are slippery and they bounce, and then they are almost impossible to find--except for my mouther, who can find them after I've crawled around for 20 minutes searching.

      But, they love them so much that I have decreed them an outside toy. Now, if they bounce they get lost in the grass and I don't have to worry about it.

        I don't use the water beads because I only have infants and toddlers but I do use the tapioca balls. I got them at an Asian market for really cheap. Had to look up instructions for hydrating them online since the directions were not in English but the kids love them just as much as they probably would the water beads and they are edible so I don't have to worry about them eating them.

        In the alternative you could always just go to Cherry Berry or Tutti Fruitti and just get those without the frozen yogurt. LOL.
