my bil is just like this. Its the fact that he has lied so much that he acually believes his lies. We too compare stories and laugh. right now his lies aren't hurting anyone but they are funny. Oh he's also 43 yrs old.

The step-daughter I commented about is 39. It's dumb stuff too, and we all go "why was it important for YOU to be told XYZ about this, and ME to be told LMNOP?" It really makes no sense sometimes. But other times, we clearly know why. It all makes sense that she wanted her sister to think one thing, while her Dad and I think another, and her real Mother something else.

I have a daycare mom just like this. Except it's not pathological. She knows exactly what she's doing. It would be easier if it were pathological and then I could more understand it. This is the mom I have to require her bring me her computer generated clock in and out printed receipt every single day. Ugh.
