I am finding that I do the same crafts over each year. I need some new ideas! I thought we could post pictures of some of our crafts for other providers to see and implement in their programs.

#1 Poster board cut-outs with pencil erasers dipped in paint for decoration.
#2 paper plates painted, sprinkled with glitter, and cut into trees

#4 holes in paper cut out with tissue paper glued on the back so it shows though as ornaments.

I just realized they are all trees! LOL

Melted snowman ornaments



You fill plastic (or glass, if you’re brave) ornaments with salt, add some peppercorn “coal,” and carrots and sticks made of clay.

I actually found little sticks at Michael's craft store and used them instead of making the clay ones...I am NOT that crafty.

I did use orange modeling clay though and pre-shaped 10 carrots and then let them air dry for use next week. I even found tiny top hats at Michael's in the Christmas section where they display the little Christmas villages...

We made these coaster. Took a picture decoupage the picture to ceramic tile then give it two coats of poly and then hot glue some cork to the bottom

we also put paint in the clear plastic ornaments at walmart and shook them til covered and contact paper trees with tissue paper collages. I just don't have pics

Oooh, I like the wreaths with the real pine needles!

A couple years ago we made wreaths with peppermint candies. You just line a small aluminum pie tin with peppermint candies and put them in a warm oven (325F) just until they melt enough that they are fused together.

When they are still hot, I poked a straw through the top to make a hole. I let them cool and then used a ribbon through the hole to make a loop to hang it from the tree.

I didn't take a picture of them and haven't done them since but here is a picture I found online that shows what I mean.

Super simple and smells great!

Thanks for the ideas. I have a range of ages from not yet 5mos to 3 1/2 yrs. So hard to find something they can all do or can involve everyone in.

So the reindeer and melted snowmen are going to go on my list of things to do.

I have found a few window clings at Dollar General and Wal-Mart my 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 love decorating our main entrance door with them. Only costs me a $1 here and there. Plus if i'm careful we can use them again.
