I had one DCGma that gifted me a whole huge bin of Christmas Crafts and instructions - she was a former preschool teacher and it was literally hundreds of dollars of craft materials.

I am closing so having to let a few families go. My favourite family started care at a new place next week. The mom gave me flowers and chocolates from the kid and then she gave me a spa gift certificate and promise to babysit my kids anytime so I would have time to use it.

Just in general consideration made the most difference. I have had people keep their kids home with minor colds when I was in the early stages of my pregnancy because they didn't want me to catch it and then not be able to have any medicine. If one of my little dcg's acted up during the day, I always got an apology picture/card the next day.

I had really nice families this year so am having a hard time saying goodbye to them.

This thread is so sweet. I have not been doing this long, but I have a couple.

My first DCF gave me all sorts of stuff. DCM cleaned our her closets and gave me all the clothing that didn't fit her anymore, it was bags and bags of designer clothing and coats. She also gave me tons of make up she wasn't using. The gave me a large Amazon gift card for Christmas, and got several nice presents for DD.

We adopted 2 cats back in August, and a DCM that had just enrolled brought us a bag of gifts for them from Petsmart, it was very sweet.

3 of my DCF work at the same large company, and they are constantly sending me new families for the wait list.

I have been so blessed I'm sure I won't remember even a small amount.
One mom will bring me a movie sized box of my favorite candy every once in a while for the fun of it.
Just had a mom knit we a warm soft cozy blanket
        Can't forget Cricut mom!
Lots of notes showing appreciation-they always make me cry.
Random gift cards for restaurants throughout the year.
I got a Kindle just bc mom got a new one-so I got her old one
My dh has been unable to do pretty much anything for the last year so I've had parents shovel, rake, clean up the yard, mow, bring meals...all kinds of things that are so appreciated!
I have a family that I gave a discount to a few years ago paying for FT spots now even though their kids are in school to make up for it- I never asked them to do this.
Lots of verbal appreciation and posts on my fb wall showing appreciation for the things I do with the kids.

One family swapped cars with us so that we could use their mini-van to take our daughter to college! A dcd plowed our driveway for years. One roto-tills my vegetable garden every spring. He has also fixed my kitchen sink, installed a new mailbox, a new front door lock, etc. That family also gives me a raise every year when they get theirs, and brings presents for my whole family on many occasions. Another - strawberry jam when she found out critters ate my whole crop! I could go on. The blessings of living in a small town!

I had a DCD pay me for several weeks even though he was pretty sure his child was going to mom in another state and wouldn't be coming back to me, just so he cuold have the spot "in case" mom didn't get the custody she wanted. Unfortunately, she did. H was the SWEETEST little baby and her mom didn't deserve her at all. (She was on drugs and tried to kill the baby with a blanket, but in our stupid state and her stupid state all believe in reuinification in almost ALL circumstances. She went thru "rehab" and promised to never try to smother her baby again. SMH) I did feel that dad was discriminated against (and wrote a letter in defense of) because he was ARMY. I even was his permanent Family Care Provider but they still gave mom the baby. very sad situation.

One made a beautiful wooden cabinet to say thank you for caring for his kids and others have donated books and toys their kids no longer use. Some attended my father's wake when he passed away. They've always been very understanding and supportive any time I've had to close the day care. It means a lot to me, especially when I hear how some dc parents react to their providers' need to close for things like funerals, illness and family emergencies.

I have a dcm who brings me coffee once a week or so.

I have received lots of great gifts over the years.

One of my dcms used to sell Thirty-One products, and she would bring me bags for different occasions. She also brought a beautiful carry-on bag as a gift when I was going to Costa Rica for a week.

But my best above, beyond, and over the moon was the dcf that gave us their timeshare points for the year so we could go to Disney World for the week. lovethis

One daycare family gave me a whole weeks pay as a Christmas bonus.

We were remodeling our bathroom upstairs and a parent gave us a Lowe's gift card.

I had surgery and a parent brought dinner when I got home from the hospital.

The nicest, to me, is when I advertise an opening and they post about my opening on their FB. I have been very lucky to fill spots quickly based on their posts and referrals.
