    Holiday Pumpkin Decorating Ideas?

My pumpkin from Halloween, that we didn't cut into, is still in pristine condition. It's such a pretty pumpkin in a beautiful orange color. It pains me to think of tossing it just because it's out of season, . Anyone have any ideas on how to decorate it for Christmas?

Paint it to look like a giant ornament.
Paint a Christmas scene on it or carve one out.

I'm not very artsy, but my pumpkin is still in great condition, too. So strange since they usually all rot, but one hung in there. I was going to do what is mentioned above, and make it a giant ornament, paint it red, and add glitter just to make it part of my table display where the kids have craft and lunch time. If it looks terrible, I will just toss it.

LOL! I grow pumpkins in my garden. I got 64 giant pumpkins this year.

I grow them for our deer that visit our back yard. They LOVE pumpkin!

I also cut them open and lay them face up (seeds and all) on the fence posts....birds love them too!

I'm sure that's not what you were wanting to do with it though...

Darn... I just tossed 4 pumpkins yesterday! I would have love for the kids to decorate them like ornaments. I'll have to remember this for next year. Post a picture if you can.

My son decorated a pumpkin one year to look like Santa. He used a store bought Santa hat and white fur-like material for the beard. I think he glued on google eyes and used craft foam cut outs for his nose, mouth and cheeks.
I wish I could find a picture of it. It came out really cute.
