awesome that one is tough... I have only heard of one and the man watched and measured everything in her meat loaf and the serving sizes. She also passed with flying colors. What were they looking for mostly???? paperwork like the state audits?

She makes sure I followed the steps in properly cleaning the eating areas & washing hands. She inspected my fridge & freezer. Watched me prepare the food & serve it.

            Yay! Good for you! happyface

It's weird how different states and/or food program sponsors do things! My fp lady never watches me make or serve anything and never has looked in my fridge! She just asks me questions like what kind of milk I serve and goes over any new paperwork, then she's out.

But when I worked at a center, they did watch us do everything, but I guess center fp's are different than fp's for homes.

How funny! Mine just comes and counts heads, confirms what I'm serving is what's in my MMK, asks if my MMK is current, watches me serve lunch and that's about it. She comes a few times a year and is always super nice and very quick. She doesn't make me measure or anything crazy, I'm usually already serving lunch when she arrives but once she was here while I prepared lunch. I don't get nervous about the FP drop ins, it's the state licensing drop ins that make me nervous because I've heard they always go out of their way to nit-pick and find something wrong even if it's questionable and passed the original inspection. One inspector told me to have my knife block back in the far corner of my counter and that was fine, but my pre-inspector said they want knives up above the fridge? WTH? How safe is that?? And then another friend who's a provider told me her initial inspector told her above the fridge was unsafe and put it on the counter but when she had a drop-in visit they wanted them above the fridge. So really... It's up to the individual inspector and how they feel that day and how everything else is. I have everything the way it should be, but it always makes me nervous.

I don't get nervous about the fp sponsor coming either.

But, how frustrating for you to have to "guess" which way is right for each person! I think they should have a very specific checklist with everything that they check and shouldn't be allow to veer form it, but I guess that could cause problems because one might read it different from another.

I had mine Monday. We were outside playing. It was so nice so we ate "dinner" aka late afternoon snack, quickly to get outside! She did the paperwork outside. I offered to let her go in and open my frig to check milk. She said no that is fine.

my fp lady is very nice, she checks attendance and the meal I'm serving, talks to the kids and takes a quick look around, she is always very nice and try to not interfear with what I'm doing...I'm looking forward to her visits

I never had an inspection after the initial one so I really don't know what to expect.
I spoke to my representative a couple of time over the phone (I called her) and she seemed reasonable, so I plan on doing things the way I think is best, hoping that she will be pleased

I had a weird feeling she was going to come this week. The hubster is sick & it was normally his morning, but I took the shift for him. She would have scared the bajebbers outta him. He has one speed & forgets things any given day, .

I mis understood I thought when you said national food program you meant a federal auditor, not your regular rep.
