    My Vegas Vacation

My husband and I have been planning and saving for this vacation for two years and finally booked it for April. I normally try not to take time off during the school year but didn't want to be in Vegas in the middle of July. The bus stop is right at the end of my driveway and I have a feeling all or most of my parents will still use my driveway every day to get their kids on and off the bus and I'm not sure I want to allow that. I don't want to be liable for anything that may happen when I'm not home. Is it rude to send them all notice that I don't want them using my driveway while I'm gone? If not can someone help me with how to word it without seeming like I don't trust them. Thank you.

    Dear DCP

Due to liability reasons, I cannot allow anyone to use my driveway/property while I am not at home.

Please make alternate arrangements to have your child get to and from school.

Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

    Sincerely,

    Child Care Provider

I think you are right to not want anyone to use your property while you are away. You could definitely be held liable for anything that happens.

I would maybe even go so far as have the parents sign and date the notice you give them stating to not use your driveway so that you have PROOF that they didn't have permission and that they aren't suppose to be there at that time.

Congrats on the trip! Sounds fun! happyface

Thank you that letter sounds great, short and to the point. Good idea with signing and dating I will definitely be doing that.

Hey..., I'm going to be in Vegas in April too! I'm running the Mustang 50th Half Marathon on April 19th. It's as good as any reason to take a vacay. ::::

We're saving up for a Vegas trip too. At least we think we'll go to Vegas? Our 20th anniversary is in a couple years, and we talked about a cruise, but (believe it or not) we're kind of "over" cruising after having taken four of them. We're just not impressed anymore by ship life, and would rather fly to a destination than cruise to it. Anyway, so Vegas is currently the winner, but that could change! I just know we have a special account going, and it's climbing nicely.

Enjoy your Vegas trip! Could you maybe put orange cones, or even barricades at the bottom of your drive?

We are celebrating our 20th anniversary in February which is the reason for our trip! We are staying at Mandalay Bay I'm not much of a gambler and they have a man made beach where I hope to spend most of my time. I am 44 years old and this will be my first time on a plane because I am terrified of flying. I think I will be ok getting there but I'm worried I will be too afraid to get back on the plane to come home.

Mandalay Bay is beautiful! I stayed there for a work conference almost 10 years ago. The beach you mentioned was awesome... it was late evening when we used it, but it was very nice. They also have an aquarium that was prey near. Have fun!

                    Three words:

                    Cirque Du Soleil

There are several shows there - DO IT!!! A tad expensive, but you won't regret it.

Maybe give out the letter and put some cones/obstacles or something at the bottom of your driveway?

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions. Cones aren't really an option, I share the bottom about 20 feet of my driveway with my neighbor before it splits and that would still give them plenty of room to park and also my son will be in and out to take care of the cat. I think I will do the letter and hope they respect me enough to abide by my request. I might even have my husband sign it and give it to them they would probably take it more seriously.

And wait until you see the fountains outside Bellagio...I get chills and cry depending on the song. One time it was to "Timeto say Goodbye" by Andre Bucele(spelling?) and it was breathtaking!

I keep hearing " O" is the one to see. Do you know if I need to get tickets in advance or is it ok to wait until we get there?
