Got a Call

This morning from a mom of 2 boys 8 months and 3 years wanting care from 5:30 am to 2:30 pm Sunday thru Thursday. No one will take on the Sunday hours. I told her I would be willing to try it out thru the winter and see if it works. When I told her my rate she was not happy (my rate is average for our town) she only wants to pay $50 a week for both boys. Crazy!

I usually tell parents they can find someone who charges less. I add, "Call me crazy, but I thought my child was worth it though when she was in daycare."

So FT care (9 hrs, 5 days a week) for $25? I charge more than that a day! Curious what a regular weekly average rate is there?! Good luck, lady! You better quit your job if that's what you expect!!

The average weekly rate for 40 hours Monday thru Friday is $110 a week per child.

I would charge $25 per day per child for the weekdays, $50 per Sunday per child. doesnt matter what shift to me. The average here for home care is around $125 a week.
