    Overnight Care

What would you charge for a 5:30pm drop off and he would just spend the night and I would get him to school the next day 2 nights a week? It's my son's best friend or I wouldn't even consider it to be honest. My daily rate is $20 a day.
    Any suggestions are appreciated!!

I do overnight care on rare occasions! When I do I charge drop in rate plus an overnight fee of $15. If it's an infant and doesn't sleep through the night I have a $20 overnight fee.

Fr. 5:00 pm drop off and a trip to school the next day I would charge $35 a night so $70 a week.

I would charge $48.75/day for that (assuming 5:30-8:30). However, for my son's best friend, I would probably quote $25/day.

I am guessing you would be serving both dinner and breakfast? I would do at least $30 a night because he is going to be eating a lot and you will have to take him with you to any activities and errands plus homework time as well.

I charge the same for overnights as a regular shift and I actual love overnight kids. Who wouldn't want to get paid for a kid to sleep?

On the other hand, I do not accept overnight kids until 9:30PM. The shift you are talking about is essentially taking up a 2nd shift spot, a 3rd shift spot, and then part of a 1st shift spot if you are feeding breakfast and taking him to school as well as possibly in the evening depending how late you are open. I would charge for 2 shifts so I would quote $80 a week. Since he is your son's best friend you could always consider giving a discount if that is what you want to do but I would see no reason to.

I would be cautious going into this situation though. If you are too close with the family it could be problems and Day 2 of the arrangements the kids could change their mind and no longer be best friends which causes new problems.
