    argghhhh!

I am so mad right now, I could spit nails!

I sent a boy home with a fever of 102.2 on Wednesday. The Mom ignored my text and phone calls, so I ended up having to call 2 back up people on her list to come and get him. He looked sick when he arrived, had a 99.7 temp at drop off and I told her I would keep and eye on him and let her know if the temp went up. When it did (within and hour), she did not answer her phone or text. He was finally picked up by a back up person.

Anyway, she was mad that she had to keep him home the next day. Of course, 'he was fine' with no temp, and they gave him Tylenol and 'he was fine'. I explained the Tylenol/fever situation and she was clearly angry that he had to stay out the next day. His brother came on Thursday, and I was again told 'he is not sick, he is fine'.

Today, they bring the brother only, so I ask if the other child is not feeling well. I was told 'he wants to stay home to play with a friend' by one parent and then received a text message from the other 'he is staying home because he did not sleep well, but he has no temp'.

They made such a stink over keeping him home sick, now they keep him home for some lame reason? Something seems fishy here....

Definitely sounds like they are hiding his illness.

I wanna put money on he still has a fever but they won't admit it, LOL!! Sorry you are dealing with that! I have one family where dad always downplays an illness and mom is totally truthful so its funny when I hear their conflicting stories.

        Nothing fishy to me...

They brought him sick, you let him stay. They thought they got away with it... happyface Then had a tantrum when they got caught. Who are you to judge their parenting, anyway .(tongue in cheek) Mom will show you by gaslighting you until her dying day.

*** I'd bet they probably better medicated the brother you are still watching.

Is the brother who stayed home older? More likely to TELL you he feels bad?
        - Unless otherwise stated, all my posts are personal opinion and worth what you paid for them.

I would have sent away with the 99 temp at drop off. it would be rare that if a child is looking ill and already has a rising temp, that they are going to be able to make it 10 hours. I am not going to play the "I will call you when it goes up a tenth of a degree".....if it is first thing in the morning, he looks visibly ill and already has a temp, he would be sent away, not left to expose everyone so mom can get an hour or two at work.
