Juice stain

Just on Monday, I told a DCM that I spent HOURS on Sunday evening shampooing carpets. That I had to CUT out pieces where one of the kids threw strawberries onto the carpet from the kitchen table. She then told me about the juice stains on her carpet. I told her that kids can't have juice away from the kitchen table at my house, and that I mix 10% juice into 90% water.

Just now, 2 hours after pickup, I find that she brought a sippy/straw cup to my house full of red juice, and GUESS what happened? It's all over my freaking carpet! I'm so mad I could just go drop her kid off with her right now and tell her to get lost, but then, I'm also tempted to just a little hole in it, fill it with juice AND food coloring, and send it to her house.

I'm still deciding on how to deal with Mom, my question for all of you is: What do you recommend to do about getting the juice out? I haven't yet touched it, other than to blot it a little, because I don't want to ruin the carpet in my entry.

I have not had juice spills but for wine I have had great success with mixing hydrogen peroxide, water and dish soap! The stains just completely disappear!!

Try Oxi clean. It ALMOST got a red wine stain out of my White down comforter. So close I would call it a success, especially if the carpet isnt stark white.

Ok, I'll be finishing getting that stain out with this method happyface I do use hydrogen peroxide to get blood stains off things. Don't have to use it much so I totally forgot about that. Thanks for the reminder. Is there any method to the mixing?

I use that on my laundry stains-never even thought of it for this!

I honestly just eyeball it and put a couple big splashes of hydrogen peroxide, a squirt of dishsoap and about 2 cups of water? , sorry! I know you could google for specific amounts

I have done this with an almost white couch and it worked! Took a couple applications, lots of blotting but results were amazing!

I was just making sure thats how it goes! works for me.

If you're going to try the peroxide test it in a hidden area first because it can take color out. Diluted should be okay, but you never know.

A few years ago I got red kool aid out of my carpet by spraying with Spot Shot then placing a white towel over it and pressing it with my iron on full steam. The towel spake up the stain. This is another one you'll want to test first because I could definitely see the potential to actually melt some types of carpet.

I'd say something to her like, "Hey DCM, Do you remember me mentioning how I just had my carpets cleaned? Well, today you sent juice ..red juice..and I think you know what I'm going to say happened here. " I'd charge her for the cleaning if it happens again. Be prepared though, she may get nasty and accuse you of not watching her kid since they managed to sneak it by you & get it on your carpet. Curious..was it an opaque cup? I.e... How did you not notice the red juice right off the bat?

It was near the preschool kids' backpacks that they pile up behind a chair near my front door. She must have set it on the floor when she took his coat off. He never drank from it at my house-I gave him a cup with water in it when he got here (all the kids have their own cups at my house, and I give them water that they keep on the kitchen table all day)...it was just when I went to get a kid ready for preschool that I found it tipped over on my carpet.

Even if she didn't READ the contract that she signed saying that NO outside food, drink, cups, etc. are allowed here, I read it TO HER at the interview. I stressed that I use leakproof cups, that every kid has their own cups that I provide (different kinds so that they can easily identify their own). I told her, as I tell every parent, that it is not fair to the kids when one brings a "treat" from home and the other kids don't get that same treat (and juice IS a treat at my house), and that the ONLY time kids can bring food or drink from home is when it is a medical necessity (allergies and such).
