    Playground Tricycles

Hi all! Every year we purchase the plastic tricycles and they are destroyed by the kids riding them so often. Has anyone purchased the heavy metal tricycle such as from Worthington Direct or Kaplan?

    Here's a link for an example: http://www.worthingtondirect.com/sch...4-tricycle.htm

    Any suggestions?

I purchase these from my local Mills Fleet Farm

They are super heavy duty, have rubber grip tires that hold air and can be easily ridden in the grass, wood chips and gravel.

I paid around $70-75 each. I've never had to replace one.

I love it! Much more affordable than the other tricycles I am looking at. Unfortunately, there are no Mills Fleet Farms in Mi., and I searched their website for the bike and it does not look like they sell it online. :-/

How about Harbor Freight? Menards? Costco or Sam's Club?

I know that a lot of places do sell the same tricycle. I can't remember the actual brand name so you can search that way, but I'll look and post it after outdoor time today.

Here is the one Harbor Freight sells....Cheaper too I might add!

BC do you have any issues with the tires going flat? The link you provided that was complaints from two of the four reviews. Tires go flat quickly-one said on a daily basis.

Nope. I've only had to air up one tire before and I own four of these tricycles. I've had them all well over a year, some longer.

My kids ride on gravel, grass, cement and tar.

I suppose someone could have gotten a faulty tire but for the most part they are regular rubber tires with a valve stem and everything...just like a car.

I let my DCK's use them in the winter too and I still haven't had any issues with the tires.

I sure hope it isn't a regular complaint....I'd rather have good faith in a product verses thinking I am just lucky to not have issues with it...kwim?
