    Question!! Facility Roster For CA Providers

    I realized I hadn't updated my roster since I was licensed and wasn't sure if I should put drop-ins on there? There's kids I will probably never have again in that list and probably 3-5 kids I may only have once a year. I don't really want to fill up a whole page of kids who I don't need on here but if I was inspected and they saw all the drop ins in the folder but not on the roster I'm afraid I would be cited. :confused:

    I recently was licensed and was told we needed to include drop in's on the roster, and I think keep it for 3 years. I don't see any reason why you can't include drop ins on a separate page for your roster though, as long as all of the information is there we need.

      from what I understand, you MUST have every all licensing forms filled out for any child that you care for, even if its for a few hours and must add them to your roster.

      If I were you, I would just call and check with your licensing agent.

        Murphy's law:
        Licensing will come the one day when Johnny only comes that one day a year for "just a few hours"
        ::::
        put everyone on the roster

          It is now a $100 fine for each child you leave off your roster.

            All children currently enrolled need to be listed on your roster. Ones who have left don't need to be there. All paperwork needs to be current on all children enrolled.

            I retype up my roster every 6 mos. I only list the children that are currently enrolled and leave off the ones who have left.

            I always add a new child the day they start and write down the day they leave in between retyping my list.

              This confuses me because it says to keep for 3yrs so even if kids aren't there they need to be on the roster for 3yrs.

              I ended up just putting everyone I've had on there and printed out a 2nd roster to continue on to. I will ask if/when I get my unannounced visit in the coming months. My neighbor and another provider nearby hasn't had an unannounced visit in over 4yrs now, I guess we don't have an assigned analyst for our city so it's usually just people who have complaints. I figure they'll probably hit all of us in one day when they finally do it. I updated all my paperwork, my earthquake kit roster copy, did my fire drill, made up a few extra enrollment packages and organized my files today. I had to fix a few safety things that have come up recently (a couple drawer latches broke and our gate lock broke as well) so we spent the weekend fixing things and adding a few secondary locks.

                I just copied the page and have several that are blank for future use. I keep a running list that goes back 3 years. I actually have my entire list from when I started years ago. I then put in dividers by year. I have never had any issues with it.

                  Yeah I have the PDF file saved to my computer so I just print as needed, but I have close to 2 pages full and haven't even been open a year and only have 2 to 3 kids here most of the time.
