    Hand foot and mouth

Hi there I am a registered user Godiva I haven't been on here in ages missed all of your intellect and advise.
Anyway I am back at the grind after taking a year and half off and find myself forgetting protocol here and there.

What is your policy on hand foot and mouth? I think it was blackcat that has that link to all the disease control information sheets to give out? One for parents one for centre

My policy is that a child may return after sores start healing and child is fever free for at least 24 hours. A child with weepy sores will not be admitted.

I don't necessarily exclude for an exact diagnosis, but symptoms of it. Which includes rashes not known or proven to be caused by a true allergen, fever, etc.

So they would be sent home or they must stay home until 24 hours after symptoms that I exclude for disappear.

This. 15 mo old dcb last week had it friday and returned tuesday. So far, no other kids have gotten it. Fingers crossed as he did cough a few times and is too young to cover his mouth all the time, although he will if I tell him.
