    Goopy Eye

I have a child here who's eye waters all the time. Its just his right eye and generally its because his eyelashes get stuck in his eye (he's 1/2 Brazillian and apparently thats normal? idk that what his mom and dad say. Their dr always said as he grows itll decrease but for the past 2 weeks his eye has been goopy. It started out ust a white goop because the eyelash was stuck and now its a thick yellowish goop. Its still just his right eye but its getting worse. His mom says it gets better on the days he's not here so do you think this could be a dog allergy thing? Idk.. Its so weird. There is no other signs that eh could have pink eye. None. Its just the goop. Advice?

Totally normal. I don't know about ethnicity being a factor, but I know a lot of kids with small ducts so they get clogged often. If you feel comfortable, I just use my gloved pinkie to massage the area during diaper changes. I can't remember the longest I have seen it go. In my own DS, it was over a month.

I was thinking it was a duct issue but I didn't know if it were something that I needed a drs note for or not.

I had a chunky monkey little boy who for about six months time his chubber cheeks caused his lower eyelids to roll inward and the lashes constantly caused his eyes to be irritated. As he grew and stretched out his cheeks became less prominent and the problem resolved on its own. I had a note on file, it was called entropian. Sometimes requires surgery if its bad enough but thats usually only in rare and extreme cases.
