    Maternity Leave

My husband and I are wanting to have another baby here pretty soon but I have no clue how to do maternity leave. I know for doctors appointments I'm going to have my mom and/or grandma provide backup at my home so parents won't have to worry about that but they won't be able to do so full time while I take off after having the baby. What has everyone else done that's had a baby while running an in home?

I am prego now. I had a sup that was approved watch the kids while I went to the doc. Then I told everyone when I found out that I was prego, that I would be taking time off when I have the baby. (this is my 4th so Im only taking 2 weeks. You may want to take longer). In my contract, I get 1 week paid vacation, and 3 paid personal days. So I didn't use any of my days this year so I could still get paid for my leave. I told parents that anything over that, I would not charge them for since it was me taking off and not a choice. Hope that helps.

This would be our 4th as well and recovery with my third was a breeze so I was thinking maybe 1 week off and then they come back week 2 and I have my grandma help.

This is exactly what I did. I had intended on taking two weeks off, but my pregnancy went to 41 weeks, so I only wound up taking one week off. I had my mom as a helper but I'm too much of a control freak and wound up doing everything. It was nice though to have a second set of hands around anyway.
