    Would I charge $20 or $30 in fee's?

Would it be $30 in late fees (Friday, Sat, Sun) or $20 (Sat, Sun) if a parent didn't pay Friday and will be paying Monday.

This is what my contract says ...Payment is due the last day your child is in care for the week. If payment has not been made on their last day there will be an additional charge of $10.00 per day for each day the payment is late. This DOES include weekends. I WILL deny care on Monday until payment is made.

I've never had a parent pay late except were they had to bring it first thing in the morning because someone else picked up and they forgot. So I'd always charge $10 but it got me thinking should I be including Friday since it's technically late then once I close?

I would charge $30 but I bill it as Sat, Sun and Mon.

I know it is paid on Monday but it is still the 3rd day....kwim?

I use that example in my contract/handbook so parents know that skipping a Friday payment means an additional $30 when paid on Monday at drop off.

or you could do it like this:

$10 immediately after close on Friday (5:31)
    $10 at 5:30 on Saturday
    $10 at 5:30 on Sunday

Either way, I charge $30. Hope that helps

        This is what I do, $20 at 6:01 Friday, $20 at 6:01 Saturday, $20 at 6:01 Sunday.

When I revise my contract in January, I am doing a flat $50 late fee so that I get no more trying to meet up on Saturday/Sunday to receive payments and ALL late payments need to be made in cash since I can't get to a bank during the week.

What she said. Do a flat rate or be prepared to have to be available on weekends.

I so a flat rate of 50 first occurrence 75 next 100 then term

I agree with the flat rate... I haven't had anyone want to come on a weekend, but I definitely don't want that. I try my hardest to not need to get out of my pajamas all weekend so that would be a pain I'm changing my contracts at the beginning of the year to a flat fee.
