    Blame Game

It's inevitable that everyone got sick. Do any of you feel like you get blamed for it? At drop off dcm said "I reminded them to have extra hand washing today" almost like she's nonchalantly reminding me! We have 4 in school now. Germs are going to come home. I can't cover every mouth when they sneeze or cough, and no matter how many reminders they still never do it themselves.
It's a cold and we're all miserable, including myself.

Thankfully I don't have parents like that. All of my families hae at least one parent who works in the school system and all but one family has older siblings in school as well as me having 2 of my own in school. They know that germs are inevitibale and they can be brought home from school or work or picked up in the grocery store.

Here's the kicker...she works in the school. Every time they get a cold they both freak out (Dcd and dcm). And try every natural remedy known to man. I'm more laid back about it I guess. I know if my son comes home with a snotty nose, we're all going to have it in the next few days. Now vomit...that's another story. I'll quarantine my child that's vomiting in a room upstairs so my other children won't get it doesn't always work but when it does I feel like superwoman!

Just smile and say, "Yes, extra hand washing is a good idea when cold season comes around." and leave it at that.

Even if it feels like parents are blaming providers, we shouldn't feed into it because it is impossible to pinpoint where a cold virus actually came from so let them think what they want....

Colds/viruses happen. I refuse to play the blame game.

Unless a parent bubble wraps their kid and never allows them to go out, they are still going to be exposed to illnesses.

After a while, you get really good at re-directing parents when they start trying to point fingers...

When she picks up, remind the kids to do extra hand washing this weekend. You don't want them bring cooties to your daycare!

agree. I would just let those comments go and not even acknowledge them with a discussion. just agree and thats that. if mom wants to get confrontational and accuse you of running a subpar program, let her do that directly and then term her, either way your problem is solved.
