Yes it is worth joining, great group of ladies but yes it has slowed down considerably I was so glad to find a group of providers here that are also nice and helpful. Oh yes the archives..... hmmm I do not think I will out myself. but if reading the archives look up the pirate and lemon chicken and the turkey story. great memories. many of the core group have gone on to other careers over the years.
    It:: will wait

After my warm the breast milk in my bra request from a dcm, I didn't think it could get any worse but today she wanted me to use this snot ****er that I would actually **** on with my mouth. I had to decline. I can't remember the name of it but the thought of doing that grosses me out.

LOL! It does "sound" gross but they really do work.

I have one that actually attached to the vacuum cleaner. Seriously.

I can see where they would work good and I could probably handle the one attached to a vacuum but not the one I have to **** on.

The day before Thanksgiving one of her dcm's came in with a whole uncooked turkey and asked her to cook it for her because she was going to be too busy to do it herself!!! Sadly she was so shocked by the request she actually cooked the darn thing!
Oh, I would have cooked it for her alright.....

Dcm: can you blow dry my son's hair because he wanted to play in the rain and now his hair is wet? Oh and can you put his jacket in the dryer because it got wet as well

Me: ....I'm sure his hair will dry before we go outside four hours from now, and just imagine how wet HE would have been if he didnt have his jacket on to protect him from the rain.

Dcm: I gues I'm asking for to much huh

Me: *Blank stare as I say to myself... Um this is not a salon or a dry cleaner

                  A recent one for me:

DCM: Can you just hold my 12month during nap while he sleeps...

Me: Do you see this two infants I have here (2mo & 3mo) ask them when the last time I held them!!!

                  Oh, some people.

It doesn't have anywhere near the traffic to the child care section. It DOES have a slammin archive. Goes way back. I think it's the biggest child care board archive on the net.

The archives are valuable. I suggest going to the beginning and reading the threads that have ten or more replies. If you are interested in seeing issues as they evolve over time in child care it is a good resource. Ivillage used to maintain their archive too but I don't know if they still do. I think it goes back to the early 2000's
                      Thanks for the info!

I just thought of this request from a parent I had about 8 years ago. Dad was a real weirdo. Strange ideas. He came in to drop off the boy and told me that I could just cut off the sleeves on the boys shirt instead of the mom always buying new clothes when the season changed. (he was an ultimate cheap skate). I had a young girl working for me at the time and we really had to keep from acting shocked until he left. This is the same parent that asked me not to give him any milk at all because it gives him a beer belly.

DCM never sends what her child needs for the day so one day DCG got soaked after falling in a puddle outside.
Of course DCG had no change of clothes and could not stay inside all muddy and wet so I called DCM to pick her up or send clothes.
DCM says - Well can't you just put some of your son's clothes on her? (He is 2 years older than her)
I could but why should I? Take care of your child and send the things she needs for daycare!

I got this last Monday! LOL DCM - Can you put DCG's shoes and coat in the dryer because it got wet over the weekend and I didn't have time to dry it.

Me - That's too bad because I don't have time today either with 6 little kids here plus I don't do shoes in the dryer. Guess you'll have to go home and grab a pair of boots and a heavy sweater or something.

                              What is wrong with people??!
