We created one, but I am having issues. SInce I don't know how to use FB, (yes I don't have an account) I asked my asst if he would make one for us. I am not too sure he knows how to make a business page on there, so I am trying to figure all of this out.
I can talk to you more about it in PM if that is ok...

oooohhh I love you....ok so here is what he did.....for some reason he made me a profile and one for my DC. He said I had to have a personal one to have a business one.
1. I don't want a personal one, I only want a business one
2. I don't want parents to be able to leave comments or anything else
3. I basically want it so that people can review it and people can come for informational purposes only. Some what like my website. People can view it, they can't leave comments on it.
Please help!!! I think we may need to delete the ones he already made and then start over

Ok, 1.) To be able to manage a fb page you do need a personal one. That doesn't mean you need to manage that page or find friends or any thing, but you do need to join fb to manage the page. You can view a business's page without having a fb but you would not be able to do anything or make any updates unless you join FB.
2.) If you don't want parents to comment, I honestly don't know if there is an option. If people 'like' your page, they can leave comments. It will show up in a smaller section, not your updates that you post, but it is an option of having a fb page and having people view it. They can also give you a star rating and review. I guess you could ask the NOT to post comments? But its not an option you can take off. It is social media after all. Its designed to involve people.
3.) Very similar to my response on 2, since it is sociable media its designed in the way that people can be involved. They can 'like' your pictures and updates and comment on things. If you are looking for strictly informational, where people have no access to activity on your page, you may need to stick to a web site. Maybe find one that's easier to update regularly? I think what you're looking for is for facebook to not be facebook.
So I guess its all about what you're looking for and if facebook is it or not, and what I'm seeing is that you're looking for a website, but already have one. Facebook is, again, designed so that people can comment and there isn't a way to disallow that (that I've found). Maybe consider starting a blog instead?
I liked it, from my personal page, hope that's okay.
Do you mind me asking, how does that work for you? I have a website, and I advertise on care.com, and that works really well for me, but I'm wondering if FB bring in a lot of new clients?
Also- do the parents view it? I spend so much time on my website updating our week, posting pictures, but the parents don't look at it, only prospective clients. I would like a page where parents can see what their kids are up to, and maybe FB would be easier for them...
What is your experience, or anyone else who wants to chime in?

I have a very successful FB page. I get a lot of inquiries about child care through there. Honestly probably 90% of my contact from potential new clients is through that. All of my parents are active on my page and love seeing what their kids are doing. Parents even share the pictures from my page and that gets me even more exposure. I have listed on Care.com, through the paper... nothing gets me exposure like my FB page. Its actually the only thing I use now. I also have ore friends via my fb page and share updates through that, like if we have an opening, and I never have an opening very long.
