    Still hanging on

Hello all! Hope everyone is doing well. I have been back and forth trying to decide whether or not I should continue doing daycare or go back into the workforce. As you'll may recall I am only licensed for 4 children now and they are all paid by the state. The state cap rate for Full Time preschoolers is only $15.50. I love what I do and that is why I am still hanging on, but I don't see a way for us to make it off what they are paying.

          Thank you!

I have been kind of down in the dumps about the whole situation. I've had a parent to cry on their child's last day. I have even had a parent call and ask if their child could come back.

Would this be a private pay client? - more money? Could you start replacing clients with private play clients?

I have a really hard time letting clients go though...

They both were state pay with the same rate as the ones I kept. I had a really hard time letting them go. How do you choose who to let go without making someone upset because you choose to keep another child over theirs?

You just have to choose the best fit for your program... The "let go" family is gonna be sad or mad though...

You're right. It just makes me feel like the bad person though...

You are not a bad person, it is the nature of the beast we call daycare! I hope you can work it out as well!
