    Ugggh! What a week!

This week (and it is only 1/2 over!) has been one of the worst we have had around here in a looong time. I am sure most of it is because the children just don't feel well this week, we have a mild cold going around w/ runny noses and coughs but no fever or anything excludable. I did send one home yesterday for "unable to participate" but has done nothing for him and he is still being a terror today (along w/ 5 of his friends )

Every day this week 5 or 6 of our 7 dcks are their "worst self". The whiny ones whine at everything, the wild ones are bouncing off the walls, the sensitive ones are crying, etc etc. ALL DAY LONG.

Monday we did a "normal" day, Tuesday we tried a very child-led day, today we took them to the basketball gym across the street and let them run all morning long. Nothing seems to be working.

    Example- lunch time today

17 mo refuses to take off her coat (and puts it back on if you take it off) but is crying and screaming that she wants it off. (she never does eat lunch, I finally laid her down for nap with the coat on, and 1 shoe on)

2 5 yos act like 1.5 yos at the table and finally have to be excused before they are done eating (then they cry and pout that they are hungry)

2 yo throws all his food on the floor then screams bloody murder when I get him out of highchair saying he wants more.

4 yo sits pouting not eating because someone took the chair she wanted.

And that is just 20 minutes of the day, it has been like this for 2.5 days straight!

Now I can handle a day like this, 2 is pushing it, but I cannot do 3 days and I for sure can't do 4!

Help! Suggestions on how to keep my sanity? I already told hubby we should take a sick day tomorrow- we have not EVER closed the daycare other than holidays and vacation so that is how stressed I am

Oh! And they only slept 45 min at nap yesterday- hopefully all the exercise at the gym will help them sleep more than that today!

This was my week last week, and this week isn't going much better! (((((HUGS)))))

We had an unplanned pj party-I just sent parents a text the night before (with Halloween movie, it's the great pumpkin Charlie brown) went for looooonnnggg walks and then had a camp out in the playroom. I let the schedule go and focused on them/behavior. Lots more cuddling, lots more reading, lots more provider led play. Now that they are starting to feel better I am pulling back again since they seem capable of handling themselves.

Thank you! They are all still sleeping so that is an improvement over yesterday. Tomorrow we will do a more teacher-led day with more structured activities. Hopefully that will help! I love our little group of kiddos, just not so much when they are like this!

Now is a good time to break out some bins of toys you never get to play with. Some things you can maybe separate them with a bit that may help to.
