    Is it a game now?

I have a 17 month old that sleeps with a blanket. He always has slept with it. He recently started throwing it out of the crib. If he can't reach it, he screams and screams and screams. Yesterday I kept going back in and giving it back to him. He would then throw it back out.
Today, I decided to give it back once and that was it. He is still in there screaming for it. no one else is napping when he is so he isn't disturbing anyone.

Is this how you would handle it? I feel like he thought it was a game yesterday and i want to stop it before it gets worse.

Sounds like he's testing you. If he throws it out, give it back once. If it happens again it stays there. Just make sure to give him a warning the first and ONLY time you give it back. Thats all. If he's not disturbing any one let it go. He will figure it out.

I would handle it exactly that way. He will learn quickly that he needs to keep the items he wants to have.

Our 17 mo keeps throwing colored pencils down when coloring and then screeching. I pick them up once, then after that she just doesn't have any pencils! It will take her a few days but she will get it
