    I just rinse and send them home for the parents. If I happen to be running the dishwasher during the day I might toss it in, but that is rare.

      I guess it would depend on the day, but probably just rinse and put back. When the kiddo goes off to school, the lunch staff doesn't hang around and wash the kids things.

        It's never come up but I would probably just put it back in, rinse/wipe off if the outside got messy, but I don't even rinse or wash bottles. It's just not something I do. No one has ever commented on it or complained.

          Do you feel like you are giving your parents the best level of service by giving them back sour bottles? That must be really gross every time they open them up at night to wash them. I'm not sure how you can even think that is ok to do? It's just plain rude and gross!

              I have in my contract that no sippie cups, food containers or toys are to be brought from home so I do not have this problem, ever.
              I see little people.

                You seem to be everywhere... just lurking and waiting to pounce on everyones "level of service".

                I'll bet you're fun at parties.

                  For those of you that worry about this;

                  When a parent takes their lunch to work do you think that they wash their own containers after they eat or do they just throw them in the bag and bring them home.

                  When a child goes to school and take his\her lunch do they have a dish washing area set up for the kids or do they just toss them back in their lunch bag to go home?

                  I am not hired as a dishwasher but to care for the children. If I spent all the time washing their dishes the children would be affected.

                  I would just wash the dishes myself if this was reversed and a container came back to me.

                  I see little people.

                        When I just had 1-2 kids I would toss it in the dishwasher, now that I have a couple more, I put them in a plastic grocery sack, and put them back in the bag. My parents bring me grocery bags sometimes, so I appreciate that.

                            I have a child that brings her own milk, because dcm wants her to drink organic. I have always washed out the plastic container and thrown it back in her bag. I also hand wash bottles.

                            It isn't a big deal, I just do it and never thought much about it! I can't stand dirty dishes and it would bug me to send home a dirty bottle or container...but that's just me! ::

                                I don't allow ANY food from home or bottles etc.

                                I make all formula up here using bottles that stay here. I have a few of every kind here and parents bring one to stay usually too.

                                Call me a softy. For my special dcf I even make up his formula at night and send it home. I do it while I make his sisters tube feeding bag. Mom picks up at midnight and I knows helps her at those 3:00 am feedings. She's never asked me to and tells me often how much she appreciates it though.
