I am continually shocked by the number of parents that are beyond clueless. I am thinking "okay so you have never been around kids before, you may not know everything to do.....but you are still on Earth right? you were a child once? you went to school and church and wherever else and have been around kids before? how can you not know the very basics of keeping someone safe????"

i am so glad i wasnt eating when i read this. i would have gagged on that Sesame street part LOL

They have never been to one. Both parents work at home. Explains a lot doesn't it.::

I just texted the mom (the one from the family who recommended) to see if she was picking up at the end of the day. She tells me no. Gmom is coming. I said I had a story to tell her and I will have to tell her tomorrow. She says "Oh it wouldn't have anything to do with DH's crazy boss would it?" I said "OMG You KNEW!? You knew and didn't tell me?????!" Told her I was going to egg DHs car!:: Don't be sending me people like that again! LOL!

That sure tops any crazy interview I've had!!! Gads, I can't believe they were so concerned about changing a diaper on a baby in front of a 4 year old. Seems like some people know absolutely nothing about parenthood until they have a child of their own!

Oh darn... So venture to guess if they loved you.... That you would have been suddenly full right?? Lol

It's amazing how full daycares are when crazy parents interview.

I've had some doozies myself but yours trumps mine hands down .

HONESTLY, I would not have been able to keep a straight face during that interview. I probably would have answered the last few as sarcastically as I could have mustered while keeping a straight face.

I would be sure to e-mail this family & let them know they are not a good fit for your program! You gave me a great laugh which I needed! It reminded me of an interview I had a year or so ago - parents were concerned about my backyard which is not fenced in - however we have almost 1.5 acres in my backyard & play in the far rear of our home, very far away from the road. They were concerned their 4 year old twins would run in the road. The funny thing is the parents were both very obese & I am fairly fit & while I am not skinny I am not overweight - if this were to happen I could easily catch them quicker than their own parents::

Wow that would be an interview I'd have loved to be a fly on the wall!

My craziest interview was when a mom and dad came over with their 3 children, the kids were great and playing with my kids. They went through paperwork and asked question upon question. I felt good about it and really thought they were going to sign on, but they decided not to. That was fine whatever, but a few days later I hear the reason they didn't sign on with me is because I was too young! They are 2 years younger than me and they thought that I wasn't old enough to take care of children yet... Um, hello I'd been doing daycare successfully for 4 years at that point and I had 2 children of my own. I'm pretty sure I am good at what I am doing!
