So all the kids are being dropped off this morning and I'm busy getting breakfast on the table and getting the kids ready to eat when I hear a noise and my dd saying "dcb did it!" I look and there was vomit on the floor (not too much, just a little that resembled applesauce). I check his mouth to see if it was in fact him (both dcb and my dd were sitting in front of it) and sure enough he had some dribble of it on his chin. I wash him up and clean and sanitize the floor and text the parents to pick up. I also checked his temperature and it was normal. He seemed to be acting normal but he had only been there for 10-15 minutes so it's not like I had much of a chance to get a good feeling for his demeanor.
Dcm comes right away to pick him up and says he gets acid reflux and sometimes vomits. He had apple juice this morning and that was the likely culprit. I have a good feeling she is correct, but I am not entirely sure he is not contagious. Plus dcb is jumping out of his chair to go home (we were eating when she got here....he was eating normal), so I would hate to say "sorry dcb, you're not going home because I think you're fine." Dcb will be 2 in December so it's not like your normal "acid reflux" age in babies. I asked dcm when the last time he vomited and she said it's been a few months, but her doctor said it would still happen.
He ended up going home with dcm but I am unsure if I made the right choice to send him home. Things with this family have been rocky lately and I feel like I just gave them a bunch of ammo to use against me.
What would you all do in this situation?
