    Fantastic Friday! TGIF!

What are some fun fall activities you do with your little ones? In the past I have taken dried leaves and then covered with paper and shaded with crayons to form an outline. We have gone to an apple orchard, and planted a seed from an apple to watch it grow. Looking forward to hearing what others have done!

This week we were doing D is for Dinosaur. I had so many fun and cute things planned but I haven't had a full day yet this week. Tuesday I sent someone home and dd was at her dads. Wednesday I closed for my first sick day because I caught all the kids "allergies". Thursday 2/3 kids stayed home sick. And today 1 is out and I just sent another home because she was coughing so bad she could not stop vomiting. Guess we will be doing D is for Dinosaur NEXT week :: TGIF!!!!!!!!

We go for a nature walk and they each get a Baggie to collect their 'findings' then we get back and make a picture with all of out treasures. They all love it!

        Fall Activities

Is there a pumpkin patch that offers hayrides nearby? Or just going someplace to pick out a pumpkin, you could get one big one and decorate with yarn hair, and painted eyes, nose, etc., or everyone get one and decorate or just bring home. Rake leaves and run through or jump in. Apples - ages that could help bake some apple crisp?
        I like the ideas posted!
Next Wednesday we are having a "Very Hungry Caterpillar" party! There will be a cupcakes caterpillar, balloons, antennae craft, scavenger hunt and games. I'm excited!

I love fall and all the activities! I don't do field trips because I have a fcc and am here by myself, but I have found many cute and fun things to do!

Oct. is Fire Prevention Month so our theme of the week is community helpers. Today we had a police officer come over (it's easier for a police officer to come over than the fire dept.) The kids got to go inside his car and see the lights. My kids are 2.5 and under so it didn't last long, but my oldest dcg really got a kick out of it!

I also do a mural on part of one of the walls and change it up every once in a while. Right now I have a tree (made of paper) and hanging from the branches is hand print leaves that the kids did and they also painted paper plates and those are apples and those are hanging from the tree and on the ground part.

We are also going on a nature walk-in the neighborhood and will look for leaves and other fall pieces of nature.

            Make homemade applesauce.

Paint mini pumpkins and do indian corn painting.

One week is Creepy Crawlers and we are going to go on a worm hunt outside.

There is just so much to do!
