    Ugh Some Parents!!!

Dcg's dad has been dropping off all week. I already am not a fan of him to start with but then this morning he walks in wearing a SUPER inappropriate shirt. It says something to the effect of "have you heard about our blow### for drinks program?". I was so in shock that I didn't say anything but I plan to talk to mom at pick up. Thank goodness none of th kids here this morning can read! The worst part is that his 3 small sons all can!

    Wwyd?

Change his shirt immediately and let the parents know upon pick up that you do NOT find the shirt appropriate for child care.

Sometimes, I do wonder what people are thinking.... or IF they are thinking at all...

I think she means the DAD was wearing the shirt. I suppose she could change him but...::::::

In that case, I guess I would just pray that he drops off fast and leaves.... I have had several parents dress "inappropriately" and leave me going but they are adults so I guess there isn't much you can do...

I doubt it...if he finds that kind of humor funny...he would probably welcome it... ::

If it really bothers you could mention to him nicely, that I know I can't tell you what to ware but I would be so grateful if you didn't ware that shirt here. It is very inappropriate for a daycare setting. Leave it at that.

                  Ugh-

Ordinarily it wouldn't be a huge deal since most parents drop off and are out the door. But in his case... he comes inside and hangs out until I open the door and crowd him out. Plus he curses openly and in front of me and the kids. And complains about paying the babysitter so much.(me) I'll be giving him ANOTHER reminder about what's appropriate at drop off.

I would have termed this family a long time ago (for much more severe offences)if my numbers weren't so low. Plus the little girl needs a healthier environment and is a sweetheart.

Always nice to hear other opinions on issues though!thanks!

If you are having to give ANOTHER reminder, then obviously the reminders aren't doing the job.

I would just address this directly.

Require the dad to make ALL drop offs and pick ups quick and stop swearing. Sometimes people like this just need to be told and not asked.

Sorry you are having to deal with this at all. Seems some adults require more supervision and direction than kids.

I can't believe someone would wear a shirt that would say that, disgusting.

I would talk to the mom and tell her what you observed including the swearing. Tell her you would prefer to interact with her only, and the only other option is if he cleans up his act, BUT do not allow him past the front door.

I once had a divorced couple that were fighting. I started service with her so I banned her ex, and he had to pick up the child from her home. Your home your rules.

We had moms who would drop off in tiny sleep shorts and tanks with no bra. And there was this one fool who came to the van to get her kid in just a tshirt and panties

I may include a clause in my contract that says parents must be dressed appropriately when on the daycare premises...

I think the worst I've seen were the idiot parents who would wear the booby shirts to work.

I had one who complained that her Insurance company sent her home. I couldn't help but tell her cheap is not really a good impression in any given situation. She didn't talk to me to much after that which was fine, didn't like her anyways.

One had a couple of boobs jobs, one that went bad and she would show me the ripples it caused. Not a pretty sight. Trying to be positive, I told her about that gal on Scary Movie whose Gel Sac's saved her from the knife welding maniac. I guess some do slip past the weeding out process.

Now if a parent came in their underwear I would for sure say something I probably shouldn't. Sometimes you can't help yourself, and you hope to impart some wisdom upon them, though mostly we end up wasting valuable oxygen. I wish I could have a kid tube outside, parent puts the kid in and they are delivered inside minus parent.
