    What Do DCK Nap On?

I saw the thread about the Kindermats, but for some reason I have it in my head that in my state the kids have to be up off the floor. Right now the kids are sleeping in real beds - toddler beds, twins and one double, as I don't have very many, and half the kids are my own.
Just wondering what everyone is using for napping beds, and hwo you feel about what you are using.
It seems like I would feel weird making my own kids sleep on cots, but also feel weird having separate sleeping arrangements...
    Thoughts?

I bought the angeles rest valu line cots. They love them! My own boys love them as well and you'd be surprised that they will probably want to sleep on them with the others. My 5 yo wouldn't give his up until he went to school full time even though he slept on it maybe 2 times! He has long outgrown naps. but, my 2 yo loves his and actually prefers to nap on it during the weekends too! Sheets are ordered from sheetsunlimited.com. They are very reasonable, of good quality, and lots to choose from too!!

My regs only say that a child can not be directly on the floor. So even if I lay a blanket down on the floor for them to lay on this is fine. (I know this would never work in other areas!)

I did start with mats. Several had tears so I replaced them with cots that I ordered new off of ebay. They came with the sheets. I love the cots. I can stack them up with their little blankets and pillows still on them and it's quicker and cleaner than folding up mats and storing all their bedding somewhere.

When my kids were still at home during nap time, I let them sleep in their beds and the dcks on their mats.

The kids sleep on cots from the time they turn 16 months here.
Less than 16 months are in a playpen

I have a 2yr old who naps on the couch. He falls asleep mid-play so I usually just pick him up off the floor and move him somewhere more comfortable. My DS who's almost 2 sleeps on the chair or other end of the couch. He needs snuggles to fall asleep so I usually just move him after I get him to sleep. DCB who's about 18mos sleeps in a PNP in the back bedroom. The 3yr old I had previously was on a blanket between the couch and the chair. He had a hard time falling asleep but was a bear if he stayed awake so I would have him lay down there to have some quiet and darkness and he fell asleep 99% of the time. :-) I just invested in some Kindermats though and will see if I can make those work here soon with my 2 couch nappers.

In my state the kids must sleep on a wipeable or washable surface. I ordered mats from matsmatsmats.com. (Im sure there cheaper other places) I use the tri fold style. My dc kids are all used to them and I just wipe them with a Lysol wipe at the end of the day. Kids 18 mos and older sleep on the mats and the younger kids sleep in pnps.

My infants sleep in pack n plays. I transition them to cots when they are ready. I don't have a set age to transition them I just do it when I think the kids will actually stay on their cots. I have the angels rest slimline cots I believe (they are designed to take up less space when stacked). I love them! I can stack them with blankets and pillows still on them, which makes setting up and cleaning up nap much easier. Mine are a bright yellow color but I got a great deal on them when I first opened 5 years ago - that color was on clearance at discount school supply. The only negative thing I can say about them is that they take more room to store. We are allowed to use mats if we wanted for naps, but they have to be at least 2 inches thick. My son has his own cot, as regulations require him to follow daycare rules and regs until he starts kindy and my upstairs (where his bedroom is) is not approved daycare space so he is not allowed up there during the day. He doesn't mind sleeping on a cot, but will still not go to sleep on his own. I usually rock him then transfer him to his cot.

I have a 19 month old and a 17 month old, both in P'n'P's. The others rest on those kindermats. I need to buy something better though. These do not withstand the test of time or much else for me.

I have the same cots and love them! My niece loves to sleep on them when she visits. She likes it better than a bed...

My non-infant kiddos sleep on kindermats. I bought a bunch of body pillow pillow case things. They fit the mats perfect. They get washed along with the blankets and pillow cases once a week.
I have a stack of rubbermaid under the bed storage containers - one for each child's bedding.

                    Infants sleep in packnplays.

Kansas regs. are no child allowed to sleep on a couch. Sleep mats are OK, but they have to be a certain thickness. So, a blanket on the floor would not work here.

As for my own kids, when they were still nappers, they napped right with all the rest of the kids.

My state will allow kids on mats in the daytime, but overnight kids must be on cots or beds. I use cots for all above 2 years. My own WANTS to sleep on a cot, but he sleeps in his own room.

My little ones (under 2 1/2) sleep in cribs in a spare room. My olders sleep on cots in my living room so I can see them at all times. This has worked for me for years.

Thanks for the replies - sounds like the cots may be just as good as the beds after all! I'll keep that in mind!

My state regs state cots, K mats (I think the thicker ones) or sleeping bags. I have parents provide the sbags. I also have to store them w/out touching. I got $2.99 pop up hampers, and they work great!

I opted to wash them, as it is required they be washed each week. I figured that's a lot of dragging them back and forth and would they really get washed?
