New family flies by the seat of their pants, and I don't.

These are relatives of one of my long-standing dc families.

First this family was going to start last November right after the baby was born. Then it changed to January. Then it was going to be in the summer. Finally they started in August.

First 2 paychecks were not on time, just a day or tow late but still!

They come at all hours. 8:30, 10:00.

10mo old baby is on a wacky schedule. They want her to have a nap at 10:30am. getting up about 12:30 and back down for nap again at 2:30. Polar opposite of everybody else! (I don't do this, I put her down the same time as everyone else.)

They told me they'd be here at 9:00, here it is 9:20 and no sign of them.

    *sigh*

Sounds like a good old face to face discussion is necessary about program rules and policies and what your expectations are.

Yikes! Would agree with Blackcat about a face to face and would also explain that you go according to the child's schedule and what's best for them. I would also let them know that you need to have more structure to adequately care for everyone and so you know what your day looks like.

Sounds like a conversation is in order for sure!

Although when my son was 10 months old, he was on that schedule--as well as most other babies his age that I knew. I know some 16 month old kids who are still napping at 10:30 and 2:30.

I do have a 6 month old who is on a similar schedule. It's self-set.

actually right now she's trending towards 11-2 or 2:30, then another short one around 4 or 5.

But i agree with the others; discussing your expectations with them is vital.
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!
