Will The Gov't Shutdown Impact Your Inspector/Licensor's Job?

Hi everyone... well, my inspection was finally scheduled for today (after waiting 6 months!), but the inspector cancelled because she's sick. Ugh... I found out just when I had finished cleaning and preparing everything. It's rescheduled for later this week. What I'm wondering is if this government shutdown is going to impact her job--will those inspectors/licensors be on furlough? If so, am I going to have to wait indefinitely for this license? Has anyone had any experience with this before?

It wouldn't hurt to call the office, and see if their office may be impacted. (while there is still definitely someone there). Good luck!

No, the inspectors work for the state. NOT federal government.

Family child care licensors in Minnesota WILL still be working as they are county employees. Centers in Minnesota are licensed my STATE employees.

According to my licensing department NO child care licensors working at the county level will be laid off and ALL licensing visits/inspections will continue as planned.
