That is just bizarre! One of the things I do is tell my clients that it's almost impossible for me to answer the phone in the course of the day, and to leave a message and I'll pick up if I can or call them back as soon as I can. This way the machine picks up and the telemarketers just hang up. Of course, they wind up calling back and usually during quiet time

P.S. Your name only stays on it for so long and then you have to put it on again. I know this because recently we started getting all these telemarketing calls where before we rarely got one. So we just put our name on it again the other day. I'm waiting for peace again, . It works!

The problem I find with the do not call list is that there are way too many exceptions. Most of the annoying calls I get are somehow exempt from DNC

Unfortunately, we can't do it now since the government shutdown. Says it right on their site. Good grief!

Are you answering when they call? I know you said you sent an email saying not to call again, but have you told them directly over the phone to stop calling and remove your name from their call list?

                Ugh--how annoying!

Not sure but I would tell them in person on the phone as someone else said. Also, why not report them to the Better Business Bureau for unethical practices or just for harrassment? No means no.

I just got a sales call from Allstate for car insurance. I am in Florida also and get upset because Allstate used to write homeowner's policies in Florida and don't anymore because of hurricanes. I remember my dad always saying that all the insurance companies should have to share the risk or not be allowed to sell other kinds of insurance in our state. So I asked him if he sold homeowner's and he said no. So I told him my reasoning and said well then I'm not interested in buying any other kind of insurance you sell. I know it is a drop in the bucket but it made me feel better!

Ditto that on Allstate! Omg, don't get me started on insurance in Florida! My center is in a 100 year old house, wood frame, pier foundation.......insurance NIGHTMARE! .
I also got a call today trying to sell me health insurance. When i asked if they were part of the new exchange and the Affordable Health Care Act, they said "no, we don't deal with that 'Obama Care nonsense'", I asked to be removed from their call list too.

The Do Not Call Registry only applies to personal phone numbers, not business numbers, so it depends on whether your center number is considered business or personal. Your hubby's cell phone is probably off limits, though, unless it's registered to your business.

Personally, since you know who the business is, I'd get on the phone to the President of the company to let him know that if they don't stop the calls you will begin your own campaign to spread the word in your area about their disreputable practices. Remind him/her that you have a wide base of contacts throughout the community through your business and each and every one of those people will be told, and encouraged to tell their friends and family, too.

Send them a certified letter stating that you have received XXX amount of calls since you have told them to stop calling you, and that you demand that the calls stop. CC your state's attorney general's office, and the Federal Trade Commission (even if you don't send the other 2, put the CC on the original anyway). They should stop after that. If they don't, then file a complaint with the FTC.

Easy, there are programs that companies/agencies use ... especially creditors and law enforcement ... that show who you are, where you live/work, who you're married to, your neighbors etc. This info is compiled in a database using census reports, public records etc.

Have you actually confirmed this company is in fact a legit company. The whole thing seems shady to me. At least they have an actual person calling. A lot of telemarketing calls I get are an automated recording that I can't ask to not call again. I would think you might be able to file a harassment case against them but I am not sure of the legalities there. In any case, I would be pretty ticked off at this point if I were having to deal with it! Good luck!
