    Call From JERK Telemarketer

I got a call this morning from a guy selling a camera monitoring system. I told him we are not interested, very politely. I have caller ID, it said "unknown number". He calls back later in the afternoon. It also said unknown number, same distinct male voice. This time, he says "Are you enrolling? I have a 3 year old daughter." I say yes. Then he says, "well, do you have a camera monitoring system? I will not do business with a center that doesn't have one." So I ask "why are you trying to sell me a system, then calling back and saying stuff like that?!? " All he says is uh.....uh.....". So I say "what's your name and the name of your company?" Click.
    Grrrrrrrr. Burns me up!

Wow what gall! There probably isn't any way to find out who he's selling for? That kind of selling tactic should be reported.

Uh....I'd be pretty concerned if I were in your shoes. Sounds like someone wants access to your property, and BAD.

I have never had a telemarketer know what I did for a living. Call lists don't include information like that.

Did you report it to police?

Wow! I can't believe he had the nerve to do that!

I would put your number on the national do not call list. I rarely get any calls after doing this!

Register your phone number to report stop or block unwanted, annoying, telemarketing, spam calls, robocalls to the FTC

I'm a center with a publicly listed phone number. I get tons of telemarketers who know
I'm a center. Art supplies, playground equipment, you name it. Ugh.

Do any of the others continue to harass you using a creeper tactic like that though??

Have they been deceitful about their intentions?

Refused to give you the name of the company they are representing?

The thing that gets me is.......and where was he going with this tactic? Was he planning on calling me back tomorrow to make SURE I'm not interested? Or was he just being a (rhymes with trick)?
                  Slimy either way.

You think it could be someone selling a bugged system? Like so they could install and hack/spy? The big sell was it was "wireless". Hmmmmm. It's weird..
ETA I should clarify. The second time he called, he did not mention he was selling a system at all, was strictly representing himself as a potential "parent". Before I even answered, I suspected it was another sales call from the "unknown number". Then I thought it was him by his voice, then I was SURE it was him after the security camera nasty comment.

That's what stands out most to me.....and it's exactly why I'd report it.

If he was just trying to be a jerk he'd have made that known when you busted him.

Stalker, pedophile...you name it. Just plain jerk doesn't fit though with that second phone call.

He probably just figured if he called back later someone else would be answering the phone & maybe he'd get further with them using his new tactic.

I hate telemarketers, although I do occasionally amuse myself at their expense when I'm bored. This guy would have been a prime candidate for my amusement .

If her number is registered with the phone company as a business line then the telemarketers have lists that they go by. I have had my phone line installed since Feb. of this year and I get no less than 3 calls per day from people trying to sell me something for my daycare. To date I have only gotten 4, yup, FOUR actual calls from potential clients. I'm thinking getting a landline phone was a HUGE waste of money. It's even worse because I don't have caller ID so I have no choice but to answer every call...

Yep. Exactly. That stinks you get more telemarketers than clients. Can you ditch your land line? I am required to have one,.since I'm a center. I ditched my home land line and love it being gone.
