    Nebraska Providers

Hello (: I will be operating a LEGALLY unlicensed daycare. The state says I can care for 3 unrelated children at one time. I only want to care for 2. I was licensed for over 10 years until we moved. My home is set up just as if I were licensed. My question for you guys is what should I charge?!? I'm considering taking on an infant and one preschooler. I am open for care about 10 hrs a day. I have had many inquiries about my daycare but as soon as I mention my rates I scare them off! I was only going to charge 140 for a full time infant and 125 for a full time child over 2. There are so many people in my area charging like 80 to 100 a week! That's just crazy! Soo what are your thoughts? Thanks!!

What area of Nebraska are you in? I'm in Omaha/ Millard. My rates are higher, I do get those that walk when they hear it, but not too many.

I'm in Papillion (: the sad part is I don't even get the chance to set up an interview for them to get to meet me or see my set up. They ask my rates and I never hear from them again. Too many people want cheap daycare. Sorry but I already offer like 3.00 an hr if u break it down. It's annoying. Lol

I'm sorry to hear that- how are you advertising? I'm license exempt as well and I charge a bit more than that, so there are people willing to pay for quality care, this is a SLOW time, though! I've only had 3 calls and 1 interview set up in a month. Should pick up in a month or so (based on last year). Good luck!!!

You can advertise on the Omaha Buy/Sell/Trade pages (Papillion, Omaha, Bellevue, ect)
