    It's a Sure Bet.....

The first kid to arrive will be the last to leave.

That kid will be your most trying kid.

If you extend your closing time, that kid will extend their pickup time

That kids mom will pick up ON THE DOT of closing time and then want to talk and then suddenly have to use the bathroom. YOU will make a silent scream as she is in the bathroom but put a smile back on you face when she comes out.

That kid will then poop in her pants even though she is 4.

My smile will then fade and rolling of the eyes will occur.

When kid and mom leaves, you will lock the door and do the long version of the happy dance including stripping off the bra.

It's also a sure bet that...

I will do contracted hours and late fees that I enforce.

I will require pull ups OR pick up every time there is an accident unless there is a documented medical reason the child is still having frequent accidents.

I will have keys and hand and have kiddo ready to hand off as dcm picked up.

Sounds like you've had a rough day. Yikes to the 4 yr old pooping her pants.

Most of my policies would prevent this entire situation...

        -contracted (NEEDED) hours
-strict late fees for going outside of contracted hours
-parents are not allowed to use my washrooms
-if a parent chooses to wait until exact closing to pick up their child, they are also choosing no not hear about their child's day until the following business morning - in and out as fast as possible - I'M DONE!
-if a child poops while a parent is here, the parent is required to handle it

Seriously, you don't allow parents to use the bathroom? They rarely ask but I have a hard time telling someone no they'll have to hold it (I have a separate dc bathroom.)

Seriously. Our daycare bathroom is SMALL and wouldn't fit the majority of my parents. There is no way in hell my parents are using our personal bathroom - especially since our personal bathroom is decorated in a sexual theme.

I didn't say I don't let them use the bathroom. I would have appreciated her using it as soon as she came in and then not hang around....just something that made her departure take longer.

I don't do contracted hours.....only open 9.5 hours per day

This was the first time this kid popped in her pants here

She did not arrive late....but she left late.

I was just having fun with this......being sarcastic. We all of these days.

I have a parent that asked to use it once when she was pregnant, so I said yes. Now she asks constantly, like she plans it in to her day. It drives me bonkers. Once she commented that my bathroom was dirty. I'd had enough, and that put me over the edge. So I said, imagine how it would be if all nine of my daycare parents used it everyday as well as the kids. She hasn't asked to use it since.
