    Ohio

Hello all. I am fairly new to daycare and brand new to this site! This place really looks like it has a ton of info so Im really excited to be here! Plus I love to meet new friends too!

I currently do not have my licence. I was wondering what the laws in ohio are for becoming licensed? Is there a certain site I could check out to get information? I now watch 3 in my home and would love to become a licensed daycare some day!
    Thank you!

Ohio does not require licensure. The laws are no more than 6 children, including your own under age 6 and no more than 3 children under age 2.

You can become licensed as a type B care provider, but it's not required. Supposedly someone somewhere in the state will license Type A providers (since there are rules for it) but most counties don't allow Type A. At least...the ones I've heard about and am familiar with. You can also register with organizations such as Action for Children (in Franklin co) and get some benefits such as being on the food program and referral from their website.

However, the vast majority of people don't bother with either. Good luck!
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!

Thank you for this info SilverSabre! I have heard of Action for Children and I thought you had to be licensed for it! I am so glad that I asked as I had no idea! I am going to be losing 2 of my kids soon and would love to register to the food program also. Thank you for the information!
