I have a current daycare family with dcg that has been coming two days of the wk for the last two years. There is now baby number two. Mom took dcg out of care while she was on leave and now that there are TWO children she wants them to come ONE day. I am very hesitant in letting the infant come one day. I don't feel she will make a bond with my staff and I and I honestly don't think the money will be worth the hassle. My center is one open space with half walls dividing the age groups. I already have an infant that comes two days and even that is a game changer. The hard part is this is a good family but the mother said the two month old may be colic!! Ugh help, if you were in my position would u let a possibly colicky baby come to your center for ONE day??

I would never allow one day infant care unless it was an extremely small group and could handle it. It sounds like you are a center, so no, I wouldn't bother. Infants will never bond with you at one day a week and it will make your staff's life a living hell when they are here because they aren't used to a routine.- Flag

That'd be a huge NOPE.
I'd explain to mom that group care just doesn't work that way.
I do offer drop ins but not for infants.
It messes with my ratio and they make everyone here completely miserable.- Flag
