    Childproofing Blinds

I win the dumby of the day award! Yesturday, ds and I were fall cleaning the living room. We wiped all the walls down with pine sol, floors, pictures on the walls, etc. Sat. we washed the blinds, curtains, and all the windows...I noticed then how long the blind cords are so I decided to cut them. Only I did it with them halfway up and then they didn't have enough string to come down!:: This is my nap room! I had a meltdown. My dad came to see if removing the extras at the bottom would be enough, it wasn't. I guess it worked out okay in the end because now, not only do I have a sparkling living room, I have brand new ceiling to floor dark brown room darkening curtains to cover what the blinds no longer do! It adds a homey feel that I should've realized was missing earlier! I love them!

So glad it worked out for you. I giggled because I have done the same thing. Luckily, the ones I ruined were cheapies, so we just replaced them.

BTDT. Mine were expensive and thankfully I was able to restring them. It was/a PITA though .

I've done it, too. Glad it worked out for you in the long run!

I use to put up a small plastic coat hanger halfway up the window frame and wrap up the extra cord there.
