    Holy Moley

I have THE sassiest little 2.5 yo in my care. She tells ME what to do and refuses to do anything I ask of her. Grrr. I've had her since she was 4 months old and she's always been extremely 'with-it' and smart and....grrrr.... sassy!
I looked her in the eyes a few minutes ago and asked her "Who is the child and who is the adult?" She said "I am." Me..."You are what?" "I am the child and I am the boss."
    Oh me oh my.

I have her older sister. Last night we were getting ready to go in and I told her to go grab her shoes. Her answer? "I think you need to go get them. I will wait for you."
        :::: Um, no.

Sounds like my oldest daughter. Easier to handle, though, now that she's almost 18. Want to be in charge of things? Here's the grocery list, have fun and bring me the receipt when you're done!

Doesn't help now, I know. But I swear I had the exact same conversations when she was two. Really aggravated the you-know-what out of me when she'd take the high road and tell me to rexlax. "Belax, Mommy, Belax." Now it's a big family joke when I get worked up over something. "Belax, Mommy, Belax."

Love that one, I am the child and I am the boss.
I also had a little girl, very similar!
Anytime I would ask her to do something she would reply, "No, how about you do it."
Me: DCG, can you please get your shoes?
DCG: No, how about you get them.
                Me: Nope, get them.
                DCG: Oh, ok.

It's so strange, bc even after having her for MONTHS with this conversation, she still said No first, every time. Her parents clearly responded to NO, but just doing it for her

Where do they come up with these things?
I asked my then 3 year old if she wanted to cuddle and she replied, "you need to cut the cord mommy" I had to have her repeat it because I couldn't believe my ears! I don't know where she heard it but she's one of those kids that hears something once and then just soaks it in. Sassy girls! I don't know if I was sassy but my mom says that I would hold my breath until I passed out when I didn't get my way as a child...it scared her to death...she should have just given me my way and everything would have been fine! ::::::

My oldest girl too. Egads!! She is now 21 and insists everything is "her life" and I should butt out. Until, of course, she needs to do some laundry, help moving, college financial aid help, doesn't understand the car insurance...sigh.

I tell my 3 year old dcg, "Don't be sassy." Yesterday, she wanted something and I said "no". She crossed her arms, glared at me, and said, "Don't be shassy!"

Somehow, I managed not to look stern and not laugh.
