    TMI Question

sorry but i have to ask as i'm having problems.....what do u do when you have to potty and um, may be in there for a few mins? ::

use to be fine going but now my 18m dcb starts ripping things all the walls, screaming,etc....i have tried a pnp, booster seat,etc...but he is my first in 24yrs to deal w/this ....having him scream makes my blood pressure rise and i find myself getting flustered while on the toilet

should i take him in w/me? he might faint

I would just wait. I would wait until nap or go before he got there or after he left. I would never take a child in with me....

Can you strap him into a high chair right outside the bathroom?

I've taken kids in with me. I usually have them sit on the floor and read/look at a book. If they start complaining about being in there with me than I just explain that it's because of their behavior in the toy room when I'm not there. I let them try being in the toy room again the next day by stepping into the bathroom as a trial in case I need to rush back out. Usually it only takes a few days of me doing this for things to calm down when I have to step out of a few minutes.

You're welcome. I only think it's weird when they are potty trained. I've never had to do this with any kid over 2 years. However I've had up to 5yrs in the stall with me at a public place cause I was so paranoid about the kid being snatched. 18mo though is pretty typical for needing behavior modification as they start testing everything in their environment.
