To Wake or Not to Wake

So I have just one DCG here today due to many reasons for absence and I took her to the park this morning where we ran around for a little over an hour and a half and then walked through town, back to the DC, and played, ate lunch and at lunch she was really kind of zoning out. She laid down and within a half hour was out. She's been asleep since 12:00... Thats 3.5 hours of napping... My nap window is usually 2 hours and she's always the last to get up but we generally stop being quiet 30 mins after nap time is over. So since there are no kids she isn't being woken up by noise. Usually I think if a kid is sleeping its because they need it, but at this rate she's going to be asleep until her mom gets here. Would you wake her? I don't want to throw off her night time routine, and as I don't really ever wake a sleeping child 3.5 hours seems like plenty rest. What would you do?

I would turn on some music, start making noise of some kind to wake her. If that doesn't work within 15 mins, I would start rubbing her back to wake her. A four hour nap is a bit too long.

Can you call mom and ask her wishes?

It's possible she's getting sick and needs the extra sleep, it's possible that someone forgot to mention she was up until 11:30. Oh, the possibilities!

My kids nap 2 hours if they are 2 years and older. Under 2 I don't let them sleep for longer than 3 hours. If mom or dad requests a longer nap than I will but I like to keep all the kids on a schedule.

I would probably start making noise on my own especially if she normally doesn't nap that long.

I had a situation similar to this a couple weeks ago. I let the girl slept (25 months) and her parents were upset.

Now I have in my contract that if a child is taking an unusually long nap I will notify the parents and the options are:

I wake the child and if they are too cranky, they come get them or
              I let them sleep

              It's up to the parent.
