Do any of you have 2 babies/toddlers sleeping in the same room? I have my 2 1/2 on up's sleeping on cots in my playroom but my younger ones have always been in PNP's in our bedrooms. When my daughter and grand daughter move back to Texas the first November when my son in law returns from Afghanistan I will have 2 free bedrooms. I am trying to decide if I want to try doubling up those rooms so that my other daughters bedroom and mine isn't being used. I hate the thought of one waking the other but at the same time I would love to not have to worry about taking PNP's up and down etc. Does anybody do this with any amount of success?

I had DS, 2 yo, and 2 yo dcg in his room until she moved out to a cot about 6mos ago(so, I guess he was around 20 mos) and I had almost no problems with it. I would put him in first because he would fall asleep quickly and then I would put her in. He wouldn't wake up with her talking to herself either but, he is a pretty heavy sleeper. I don't know how well it would work with a light sleeper. Until 2 weeks ago he shared his room again with a 13 mo old that I had since mid July...this was a bit more of a challenge but, because the baby was not used to just being put down to go to sleep. After I worked that out I would put the baby in first and then put DS in since he fell asleep easier and I never knew how long the baby would take to fall asleep. His crying was a lot different than the other one's talking or singing!:: I think it can work. I would recommend never putting them in at the same time. Tried that one time and all I got were 2 kids talking, giggling, and playing with one another!

I keep pnps set up in a separate bedroom for the babies, but then bring the cots out to the living room for all the bigger kids to sleep on. They get put back after naptime each day - usually. So all my stuff is actually in one room, but I just don't trust everyone to sleep all in the same room yet. They will once my babies get a bit bigger.

Yes, but to be truthful I only have one baby sleeping separate currently. My second "baby" has turned one so I transitioned him to sleep in the same room with the older kids. This was at the same time that the baby started.
I do have a second baby starting in a couple months and I'm planning to have him sleep in the same room as the other baby. I do keep a radio playing during nap time to act as white noise so they are used to voices/noise while they sleep. Usually works to cover a crying baby too, unless they get really ticked off.- Flag

I have all napping dck in the same room unless I have a screamer... Currently I have a 23 month old, a 22 month old (both in pack n plays), a 3 yr old and a 4 yr old napping in the same room. One fusses before falling asleep but it doesn't bother others and they fall asleep during it, but when the one 22 month old wakes and starts talking the other one wakes too. Older two sleep through them depending.
I lay everyone down, olders have books and littles have smaller stuffed animal, I have the room pretty dark and use white noise. Except for some babies kids are napping well for me within a week.- Flag

I think you should get your rooms back. Every home provider needs some space that is not overrun with daycare use. I always worried about kids waking each other but actually, I find that the kids for the most part, sleep better when they are doubled up or sleep all in one group room. Its amazing what kids can sleep through. The providers here advised me to put my two screamers together, which I would never normally do and what do you know, they are both (a 9 month old and a 15 month old in PNPs) significantly improved after one week together! I have another doubled up room that is a 9 month old in a pnp and a 3 year old on a cot and they do just fine. the 3 year old sleeps thru the babies occasional crying.- Flag

I have my two younger children (21 months & 23 months) sleep in cribs in my room. The older children are all on cots in my living room. The older ones fall asleep within 10 minutes of laying down and the younger ones sometimes "chat" for up to 20 minutes before falling off to sleep. I plan on trying to transition the younger ones to cots in the living room within the next 6 months.- Flag

I have up to 8 babies at a time sleeping in my room at work (mobile infant up to 17 months). They start sleeping on cots a little before they move to the next room, but they stay sleeping in the room. I utilize classical music and I thoughtfully arrange their cribs to try to keep the shorter nappers from waking the longer ones. Some days it is a mess, but most of the time it's fine.- Flag

I have 2 one year olds and an 8 month old all sleeping in my playroom together. All others sleep out in the living room.
Works out just fine, they are awesome nappers and don't disrupt each other at all. It definitely can be done!- Flag

I have both my toddlers (15 months and 18 months) sleeping in PNP's in the same room right off the kitchen.
It's not exactly quiet but I prefer they learn to sleep through noise since I usually do most my cleaning during nap time.
Both lay down nicely and without a fuss.
It did take a bit of training on my part but once I put forth the couple days of effort, it is a breeze now and I have zero issues with either of them.- Flag

I have a 3 yo, 14 mon, and 10 mon all sleeping in the same room. Most days, it's not an issue. Some days tho, I wonder why I do it, but they are few and far between. It seems like if they are all crabby all morning, then nap can be, well, not really a nap time, but I don't think it would matter if they were together or separate. It will take a few days of training, but you can do it!
