My son is starting preschool. I have to walk him in and out everyday he goes. I can park right next to the door and be in and out in less then a minute. Do I drag all the daycare kids in and out every time or do I leave them and run in? I don't even have to go in the door and can almost touch the car from where I will be parked. I feel like I should take them out but its a lot of work for just a few seconds. It will take longer to get them all out then it takes to stick him in the door.

ETA: I would not leave kids in the car unattended ever, even if it seems like I'd only be gone a second. From a dc standpoint it would be illegal for me to do so anyway.- Flag

In my state legally you would have to take them out- but I think I would anyways. Have you asked the preschool if someone will come out to get him? Most are willing if they know you have daycare.- Flag

When I taught preschool, we'd send a teacher out to meet the child at the car in this sort of situation.
I think you'd have to bring the kids with you!
I hope the school will work with you.- Flag

I would talk to the director and let them know your situation. I did this with my sons kinder teacher. All kinders have to be picked up in the cafeteria, but there is no way that I am dragging 6 just woken kids inside.
I told her what I do and my situation and my son is walked out last by the teacher to my car. I park in the same spot each day and stand in front of my car.
FYI in my town about 2 years ago a mom did this with her SA, she had an infant in the car and the car was stolen with the infant still in the car. Luckily the car was found later that night with the baby still in the carseat...
the mom went to jail for neglect- Flag

Our preschool teachers also walk them out to me. They offered this to me, and probably other providers, when they learned I had opened a daycare. We're a very small town with a very small school, so walking them to me literally meant walking from the front door of the school about 20 feet to my car!
Hopefully they can do something like that for you.- Flag

Bring them or arrange for one of the employee to escort your child in.
Besides the obvious.... here there have been a rash of robberies and carjackings at daycares.
Easy pickings with a false sense of security.- Unless otherwise stated, all my posts are personal opinion and worth what you paid for them.- Flag
