    If You Have Assistants/Helpers

I have a summer assistant and today is her last day as she has to start back to work (TA in a school) next week. I have a TY card with a small gift certificate to give to her today, but I didn't plan anything special. To be honest, the reason I needed her here today is because on Tuesday and Wednesday I will have 10 kids here by myself and really need to make sure things are set and ready to go. Selfishly, I don't want to devote my last weekend before the back to school madness starts to dc business. I also didn't really plan anything on my school year assistant's last day in June.
I guess my feeling is, I need them here to work. Both have been with me for at least 3 years. One works the school year and the other works the summer.
WWYD? Normal schedule? Something at the end of shift?

ETA: She only works 4 hours, from 8:30-12:30. So no "break" time.

I think the card & gift cert are lovely. The only other things I would do if I thought I needed more are perhaps a card from the kids with one or two of their own words each describing something they like about her - kind, fun, and maybe get her a nice coffee & donut for her break.

It's so nice you are thanking her because we all know what it is like to not be appreciated.
