    White Stool......Meaning Poop!

A kid just pooped and it was completely white! I know it could have to do with a blockage of bile, hepatitis or other liver problem. Mom was right there when I discovered it ,she was not concerned but I was. I think I should exclude until I have an answer......what do you think?

I had this happen about 2-3 years ago and it was very very serious that the child ended up in the hospital. I would have mom call the doctor asap.

the parents blew me off to, only to end up in the ER and the child spent a week in the hospital... Off the top of my head I forget what exactly it was, but I would not joke around with this. At least get it checked out..

Thank you! I told the mom she should take the child to the doctor ASAP. She said she will. I told her he cannot return until I have a doctors note. I also to,d her that everything I read says it needs to be taken seriously. She tends to think its because he's eating different food here (he is new and we earpt healthy food thar he's no used to eating).

She got ahold of the doctor who told her it was probably because he eats mainly chicken, French fries and milk! I don't think so......the poop was paper white. He is going to the doctor tomorrow to get a full evaluation. Btw, he is new here and he gets no French fries here......and he is beginning to eat fruits and veggies. Thank goodness!

The only thing I can think of is a liver issue. My grandfather had white poop in end stage liver failure. I think as a parent, I would have taken him to urgent care!

That is a SERIOUS medical condition and he really ought to be going to the ER...like tonight. I know it's too late, but I would have found a way to um...retrieve that stool sample...

Absolutely do NOT accept him back into care. He needs immediate medical attention.
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!

My daughter has Alpha 1 Antitrypsin Deficiency. (Liver/Lung issues)
White stool is something we watch very closely for, as it indicates severe problems. If we see white stool, an ER trip is coming.
I'm not sure what else could cause this, so it could be something not serious, but why would a parent take that risk?! I know food can cause light colored stool, but white? I'm not sure.
I'm just overly cautious. I would much rather go to the Dr. or ER and find it to be nothing, than to risk prolonging a serious issue.

I would say it was white with a tiny tinge of grey......his mom called it ghost white.
