Some Of The Best Workshops You've Ever Attended?

I called today and signed up for 24 hours worth of class time this fall. It made me wonder what kinds of workshops you all like attending the most?

I used to attend classes at the local high school or wherever a speaker was holding a class but after a few years, I noticed that they were all covering the same subjects, even if they gave the lesson a different title, I wasn't learning ANITHING new (I've learned more on this board in just a few days than on those years attending workshops: so I stopped going

after that I started getting my training @ online CareCorses (and whatever free training I got from acd)...I love the not having to leave the house to get clock hours, I can study on my own schedule...but I pretty much covered the basic lessons so I'm back looking for alternatives...I'll be following this thread

PS we should get clock hours just for being on this Forum

One time our then Child Care Association had a training given by a fireman but not your usual fire safety spiel but that was included.

He took us out to the parking lot and started a controlled fire in some kind of can thing. Then he showed us how to actually use a fire extinguisher. We each had to take a turn. I had never actually been taught how to use one and had never actually used one let alone on a real fire.

In subsequent years we asked for the same training but they are no longer allowed to do that without an actual fire truck being there just in case and liability issues should one of us get hurt. Those were the days when things were more lenient but it was an awesome training. Firefighter Laurel, ::
