It has taken some of my kids MONTHS to STOP playing guns. I allow water guns, but any talk of killing/death and they are gone. I am a gun safety advocate, I own firearms, I am a sharpshooter and just applied for my pistol permit so that I will feel safer running in the evenings (a mom of 3 was just abducted and is missing while out jogging recently in my area). So I am NOT anti gun. I am, however, anti violence in children and it astounds me when there is SO MUCH of it.

I have the same issue when new kids come in (or there is a vacation, or they played with dad, etc) right back to guns. I had to take away several different kinds of blocks because they were solely used to make guns with. Sticks, fingers, pinecones, etc are all guns to this particular dcb, too! It's been 4 months and I am seeing ZERO improvement so it has to be being reinforced as ok somewhere. If it isn't here, it HAS to be home!

I wish I could make it stop, completely, for all of my kids.
